Storming our city with Christ's love
Kalamazoo Drop-In Child Care Center (KDCCC)
KDCCC was founded by members of First Congregational Church in 1990, and remains housed in the church. Free childcare is offered five days a week for low-income parents. KDCCC also offers parent education classes.
We take direct referrals from members of our church and area agencies to offer financial assistance to low-income families and individuals for emergency needs, especially in the areas of housing, utilities and transportation.
Children’s Nature Playscape
In partnership with our wider community, the Children’s Nature Playscape on Bronson Park is a project dedicated to transforming a reclaimed green space into a nature park for the children of Kalamazoo. More information here.
Our building is your building. Find the perfect space for your meetings, performances, or get togethers at First Congregational.
Throughout the year we host musicians of varying musical styles in our sanctuary or chapel for a community concert with a nomimal fee. We help the musicians with a venue and they are able to offer wonderful music and we all benefit!
What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works? Can faith save you? If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill’, and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
Small Groups are larger than life.
Doing life together. Glorifying God. We believe that we belong in community, and that church doesn’t end on Sundays. Find the fit for you and your family, or start your own. There are plenty of people to get to know at First Congregational. Not listed? Learn about others
