Corlyn Longer-Schreck, Soprano

Ms. Longer-Schreck has over 30 years as a professional singer, voice teacher and vocal coach.  She holds degrees from the University of Northern Iowa and Western Michigan University in Vocal Performance and studied at the American Institute of Music Studies in Graz, Austria on full scholarship. 

She has performed as soloist with many regional ensembles in over 40 lead roles in opera, major choral works and musical theater, has won many regional vocal competitions.  She was soloist/cantor/section leader for St. Augustine Cathedral in Kalamazoo for over 25 years along with being a soloist/section leader for First Congregational Church.  She has also been a soprano section leader with The Kalamazoo Bach Festival and First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls, IA and was a member of the professional vocal quartet Aspire Ensemble.  

She currently teaches Applied Voice at Kalamazoo College, Cornerstone University (Grand Rapids), Crescendo Academy of Music, KRESA’s Education for the Arts Advanced Music Theater program and in her private home studio.  She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, has adjudicated many state vocal competitions and was awarded a Significant Educator Award by the Excellence in Education of Kalamazoo County.  She is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota and Pi Kappa Lambda Honorary Music Society.

 Tami Snyder-Knutson, Mezzo Soprano

Tami Snyder-Knutson has been afforded the opportunity to perform
both locally and globally throughout her young career. A Michigan native, she has settled her roots in the beautiful city of Kalamazoo after completing her Master of Music degree at Western Michigan University. She has been featured as an operatic soloist in Athens, Greece and Kyoto, Japan, as well as in many performances throughout the United States and has also had a robust career in church music and higher education. Outside of her role as the alto section leader at Kalamazoo FCC, she serves as the alto section leader for the Kalamazoo Bach Festival chorus and as an Instructional Designer for a local financial institution.

Isaac James, Tenor

Isaac James, 26, is a graduate from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Music, focusing in vocal performance. Having studied music actively since high school, Isaac has taken part in solo and choral endeavors including a WMU Chorale tour of the Baltic States (2017), three opera productions staged through the WMU School of Music (2017-19), and a choral conducting masterclass hosted by Milwood United Methodist Church (2018). Isaac has also served as a choral scholar for the First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo for three years up until his graduation. 

Isaac is a native of Niles, MI and has lived in Kalamazoo since 2015. During his free time, he enjoys writing, drawing, outdoor walks, and creating piano improvisations. He also works at Caffé Casa on the Downtown Kalamazoo Mall as a barista—so come get a latte, why don’t cha?
