Rev. Sarah Schmidt-Lee is a Presbyterian pastor ordained in 2006. Sarah grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and Kobe, Japan, and has since spent time in North Carolina, Vancouver, BC and rural Central New York. She moved to Kalamazoo in 2013 with her spouse, Barrett Lee, and two children, Sage and Adam.
Sarah has served on staff at First Congregational Church since 2015, and has been full time as one of our pastors since January 2017. She loves finding ways to empower young people to take leadership in the church and the world. Building a community of Jesus-followers who love each other and stand for justice is the best work she can imagine. In her free time, Sarah enjoys ceramics, fiber arts, gardening and cooking seasonal produce.
