Our youngest. Our future.

First Congregational’s programs for children emphasize God’s love for all, the ways that following Jesus means caring for each other and our world, and the special part every person plays in God’s work. Kids have the opportunity to explore Bible stories and discuss their significance in today’s world in a meaningful, fun way.
Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it…

Luke 18:17

Nursery and Toddlers

The Nursery (newborns and non-walking infants) and Toddler Room (walking babies and toddlers) are located off the North lobby during the 10 am worship hour. They can be picked up in the their respective rooms immediately after church by their parents.

A consolidated nursery for infants and toddlers is available in the Toddler Room during the 5 pm worship hour.

Peaceful Streams

Children ages 3 and up will participate in their own worship experience, built around Montessori principles. Children will learn to recognize and interact with central Bible stories, as well as symbols and language of faith they will later encounter in the main worship service.

This class runs for the whole 10 am worship hour.

Running Rivers

Children (K through Grade 5) attend 10 am worship until after Children’s Time, when they are dismissed to the Running Rivers class. In the Kids’ Chapel, children give thanks to God for events in their own lives and hear the day’s Bible story. In the activity room, students move at their own pace through monthly-themed activity stations where they can engage with and begin to live out their faith. Kids return to the sanctuary after the Offering and parents can connect with them in the back pews after worship.

Prayer Partners

Kids praying for you, you praying for kids!  Notes are exchanged and relationships made. It’s a win-win.

Middle and High School

Those students in grades 6-12 will remain in worship. But are encouraged to join our Youth Group events throughout the week.
